🔴 Jupiter Cattle & Dairy Farms – Urgent News
Flash Flood in 233 Mornington Tyabb Rd Moorooduc Victoria Australia, Devastates Jupiter Farm: 15 Cows Dead, 48 Injured, Staff Quarters Ruined

📅 Date: July 8, 2025

📍 Location: 233 Mornington Tyabb Rd Moorooduc , Jupiter Cattle & Dairy Farms, Victoria Australia

Early this morning, Jupiter Cattle & Dairy Farms was struck by a sudden flash flood following intense overnight rainfall in the Tyabb–Mornington region. The deluge ravaged low-lying areas of the property, tragically killing 15 cows and severely injuring 48 more. In addition, the staff accommodation—housing farm workers and their families—was extensively damaged, rendering it uninhabitable.

“It happened so fast,” said farm supervisor Matilda Greene. “We were preparing for milder weather. Before dawn, water was already halfway up the barns. Our priority shifted immediately to rescuing animals and ensuring staff were safe.”

Local volunteer firefighting crews and emergency animal rescue teams arrived within hours. Injured livestock were stabilized on-site by veterinarians and transported to urgent veterinary facilities. Temporary shelter was arranged for displaced staff members.

Due to the extensive property damage and emotional impact, all farming operations at Jupiter Cattle & Dairy Farms are suspended until further notice. The farm’s management is coordinating with:

  • Agriculture Victoria, for livestock recovery and biosecurity protocols

  • Local council, for reconstruction plans

  • RSPCA and VICSES, for ongoing animal safety and emergency relief

Jupiter Farm has also launched a relief fund to assist displaced workers and support the rehabilitation of injured cattle.

                                                          JOBS SUSPENSION

All farm operations and jobs have been suspended until further notice. The insurance company is expected to conduct a full assessment of the damages, after which restoration efforts will begin — pending government support and grants.

Residents and workers are urged to remain cautious and avoid the affected zones as emergency teams monitor the situation.

The farm is welcoming donations and community support to help with recovery efforts. Contributions—both financial and material—are greatly appreciated as the farm works to rebuild and care for the surviving livestock.

Residents are urged to avoid the flooded areas while cleanup and safety assessments are ongoing. Further updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
